CEDARBURG JUNIOR WOMAN'S CLUB

CJWC Board of Directors

Mica Lawrence, President, Joined Fall of 2006

What do you hope to accomplish in the coming year?  I hope we continue to impact our community in a positive way by finding new opportunities to explore and perhaps new groups to work with moving forward.

Why did you join Juniors?   I joined juniors to connect with other women in my community and use our collective talents to make a positive impact.

What is your favorite Juniors memory?  Walking into the very first Festival of Trees Gala and seeing all of the lit trees.  It was simply beautiful.  I realized what an impact had our club had on the community by bringing a brand new event to reality.

Jodi Dingle, President Elect. Joined 2006/2007

What do you hope to accomplish in the coming year?  I’d really like to work on the relationship with CJWC and merchants in Cedarburg & Grafton. We’ve had a lot of support from some merchants and I think our club members can do more to help them.  I also think that there are a lot more merchants that can help support our commitment to our community. We really need to work together in whatever ways we can. This is an awesome community and there are many people, services, agencies, group and businesses that need our support.
Why did you join Juniors?  I joined Juniors to get to know our community better.   I wanted to help support the area that my children were going to grow in.  I also wanted to get to know some local woman, and this club sure has an awesome range of very smart, talented and friendly woman.
What is your favorite CJWC memory? This is a tough one … CJWC does so much for our community. However, I’ve really enjoyed Santa’s secret gift shoppe.  It is GREAT to see all the children excited to be able to purchase gifts for their loved ones in secret.  They get to shop, buy and wrap their own gifts with “Santa’s helpers” while their parents wait outside the room and wonder what they will be getting at Christmas time.

Michelle Quirk, Past President.  Joined Fall of 2003.
What do you hope to accomplish in the coming year?  I hope to build on the successes of recent years by building a strong, dynamic membership and continuing to host successful events and projects which support our community.
Why did you join Juniors? Being new to the community, I wanted to meet new friends and learn about the great city of Cedarburg.
What is your favorite Juniors memory?  At a recent meeting we were sharing our worst spring break memories.  We laughed so hard!

4.      What do you hope to accomplish in the coming year?  I would like to continue to increase our membership with dynamic women like the women who joined this past club year and to retain the members we have who have done so much good for our community.
Why did you join Juniors?  It has been a way for me to give back to the community, to make new friendships.
What is your favorite Juniors memory?  It would be helping with Meals on Wheels on a very cold December day with my 2 year old daughter.  I was not feeling too excited to do it, but once I started delivering those meals and seeing the smiles on the faces of lonely elderly people when they saw my daughter and me with a hot meal and a Christmas wish, all negative feelings disappeared!

Kristin Schlingman, Service Director, Joined 2006/2007
What do you hope to accomplish in the coming year?  During my year as Service Director I would like to incorporate more Senior and Children's activities into CJWC.
Why did you join Juniors?  I joined Juniors to meet new people and to participate in helping the community.

6.    What is your favorite Juniors memory?  My favorite memory is the first Festival of Trees.  The Friday evening before the event opened, lighting all the trees was so magical and unbelievable that my vision had come to life.  I hope that this event continues to evolve and will be part of the community and CJWC for many years to come.
